ICD-Code I67.4: Hypertensive encephalopathy
Your brain tissue has been damaged because your blood pressure was too high.
Many blood vessels supply oxygen to the brain. A certain level of pressure is needed in the blood vessels to ensure that the brain is supplied with enough blood. If your blood pressure suddenly gets very high or fluctuates a lot, the brain tissue may be damaged. You may then get severe headaches or have seizures, for example. Sometimes you may no longer be able to move properly. You may feel nauseous or dizzy. You may also lose consciousness.
