ICD-Code I67.5: Moyamoya disease

You have a condition that can cause blood vessels in the brain to become increasingly narrow or to close.

This condition typically causes changes in certain blood vessels in the brain. If these blood vessels have narrowed or closed, the blood supply to certain parts of the brain is impaired. Brain tissue in the affected areas is damaged as a result. Collateral blood vessels may also form around the blood vessels that have become narrowed or blocked. Collateral vessels are new connections between blood vessels. However, collateral blood vessels are more easily torn, leading to bleeding.

The disorder may cause a variety of symptoms. Headaches, dizziness and memory problems may occur. Seizures or difficulties with movement are also possible.
