Somatic cells usually hold a complete blueprint of your body. This blueprint consists of genetic information. The genetic information is encrypted in the chromosomes. In humans, somatic cells usually have 23 pairs of chromosome, so 46 chromosomes in all.
With this type of alteration, the genetic information on one segment of a chromosome has an inverted sequence. The altered chromosomal structure has no effects on your own body. However, you may have difficulties with infertility. There is also a possibility of having children who are affected by the altered chromosome structure.
