Depending on the structure of the tissue, different numbers of ultrasound waves are reflected. These waves are then converted to images that can be viewed on a screen.This allowed your liver and its blood vessels to be viewed.
A needle was then inserted through the tube. This needle was then introduced through the liver into the relevant blood vessel in your liver. The pressure in this blood vessel was then measured using a pressure measuring device. In this way, an assessment can be made of how well the blood is able to flow through the liver.
