OPS-Code 5-282.0:
Operations in the nasopharyngeal and oropharyngeal area: Tonsillectomy with adenotomy: With dissection technique
During an operation, the palatine tonsil was removed. In addition, the pharyngeal tonsil was removed.
The tonsils are part of our defense system. The tonsils consist of many defense cells. There are several tonsils in the body, for example in the mouth and throat. The best-known are the tonsils at the back of the palate. But there are also tonsils further back in the throat or on the tongue.
The throat begins behind the mouth and nose. The throat connects the mouth and nose with the windpipe (trachea) and gullet (oesophagus).
