OPS-Code 5-585.1:
Operations on the urethra: Transurethral incision of (diseased) tissue in the urethra: Internal urethrotomy, visual
An incision was made in your urethra from the inside.
When you have to pass water, the urine flows from the bladder via the urethra and out.If the urethra is narrowed at one point, this can cause problems. A small knife can then be inserted through the urethra. It is used to make a small incision in the urethra at the affected site. This is intended to widen the urethra. A thin tube is then inserted into the urethra. Urine can drain through this tube while the wound heals.
