OPS-Code 5-781.2g:

Operations on other bones: Osteotomy and corrective osteotomy: (De)Rotation osteotomy: Shaft of femur

During surgery, the middle section of your thighbone was cut.

The femur has an upper, middle and lower section. The upper section of the femur is connected to the pelvic bones by the hip joint. The central section of the femur is long and straight. The lower section of the femur is connected to the lower leg bones by the knee joint.

Your thighbone was cut to alter its rotation. This allows the position of the thighbone relative to the hip joint or knee joint to be changed. Your thighbone was then stabilized again. Plates and screws, for example, can be used to stabilize the bone.
