The femur has an upper, middle and lower section.The lower section of the femur is connected to the lower leg bones by the knee joint.
Your thighbone was cut to alter its rotation. This allows the position of the thighbone relative to the knee joint to be changed. Your thighbone was then stabilized again. Plates and screws, for example, can be used to stabilize the bone.
