Extensor tendons in your thumb were repositioned.
Tendons are made up of very firm connective tissue. Tendons attach muscles to bones.Some tendons belong to muscles that extend a joint. These tendons are called extensor tendons. Some tendons belong to muscles that flex a joint. These tendons are called flexor tendons.
When a tendon is repositioned, it is detached from its original muscle. It is then reconnected to another muscle. It is also possible to reposition only part of a tendon. In this process, the tendon is split. One part remains connected to the original muscle. The other part is separated and connected to a different muscle.
