The tendon sheaths of your flexor tendons were partially removed from your wrist.
Tendons are made up of very firm connective tissue. Tendons attach muscles to bones.A tendon sheath is a covering for the tendon. It cushions the tendon and contains a small amount of fluid. This reduces friction between the tendon and its surroundings.
Some tendons belong to muscles that extend a joint. These tendons are called extensor tendons. Some tendons belong to muscles that flex a joint. These tendons are called flexor tendons.
The tendon sheaths were removed during an arthroscopy.An arthroscopy first involves making a small incision in the skin. A thin tube is advanced through this incision. There is a camera at the top of the tube. The camera transmits images of the inside of the joint to a screen. Instruments such as forceps and scissors can be inserted into the joint through other small incisions.
