As part of a gastroscopy, a foreign object was removed.
The gastroscopy involved a tube being inserted into your mouth. This allows the esophagus, the stomach, and the first section of the small intestine to be examined from the inside. A camera was attached to the end of the tube. This camera then sends images to a screen during the examination.
Small tools are used to remove a foreign body. These are forceps or a small basket, for example. These instruments are passed through the tube to the appropriate site. Then the foreign body can be removed through the tube.
